WEC’s Super Sebring Voted Best North American Motorsport Event

Readers of the most-circulated newspaper in the United States, USA Today, have voted the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring in a fan poll as the No.1 motorsports event in North America. The Sebring International Raceway event was one of 20 racing events nominated by a panel of experts for the month-long online competition and Sebring came out top thanks to the passion and support of the fans. In the previous two USA Today 10Best competitions – 2015 and 2017 – the Sebring endurance classic finished sixth and fourth respectively.

Gérard Neveu, CEO of the WEC, commented: “Many congratulations to Sebring International Raceway and to the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship for this honour. It is a further, positive recognition of this fantastic event which we are sure will only help to increase the attraction of the coming Super Sebring in March 2020. The WEC is very honoured to be part of this unique motorsport celebration, which is excellent for the appeal and significance of sportscars in North America. The nomination by USA Today, and especially this vote from the fans, is real recognition of the hard work done by the IMSA program throughout the whole season.”
