Thermo-Tec: Heat Insulation Company Back’s Matusek
Drag racer and aftermarket business owner Steve Matusek was ready to make his NHRA Pro Stock debut, and Thermo-Tec was happy to be along for the ride. Thermo-Tec, the original developer of heat and sound insulation technology, was a sponsor on the Elite Motorsports 2019 Pro Stock Ford Mustang for three races as Matusek competed on the NHRA’s Western Swing, beginning at the Mile High Nationals at Bandimere Speedway in Morrison, Colorado.
It was Matusek’s first career Pro Stock season, and his friends at Thermo-Tec were happy to be on-board.
“It’s was very exciting for us and, honestly, (the sponsorship) was a no-brainer,” said Brian Prior, Thermo-Tec’s director of sales and marketing. “I’ve known Steve a long time, it was his first foray into Pro Stock and he did it with a great car, so it’s all very exciting and we were glad to be a part of it.”
When he’s not at the drag strip, Matusek is leading his Lenexa, Kansas-based company Aeromotive Inc., which offers fuel delivery solutions for performance and racing applications.
“Elite Motorsports is a top team, Steve and Aeromotive make some of the best fuel systems in the industry, and we believe at Thermo-Tec we’re the top company when it comes to heat and sound insulation technology, so this pairing is just incredible,” Prior added, noting he’s known and worked with Matusek for more than 15 years.
Matusek is thankful for the support.
“We’ve always been a forward-thinking company and that’s been obvious with Thermo-Tec’s approach as well, so it really made sense to work together on this new opportunity in Pro Stock,” Matusek said. “I’m really excited to have had a company of their caliber on the new journey.
