VARA – Vintage BMW Series At Laguna

O’Duce At Speed

Among all of the early 2 liter pocket-rockets, the BMW 2002 Alpina is still considered to be one of the cream-of-the crop runners. The boxey little touring car was largely staid in its highway livery, but once all the Alpina bits were integrated within its frame, the car really came to life. During the early 70’s SCCA’s Production 2-liter classes were where you wanted to go to race, particularity if you didn’t have a ton of money. This video segment offers a real idea of what driving an Alpina was/is like on the track.
