The Progressive International Motorcycle Shows (IMS) seventh round of winners have been announced. This latest round of the 2019/2020 Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show (UBCBS) sponsored by J&P Cycles, took place in Minneapolis over the past weekend. The winners will move on to compete in the championship round in Chicago, Illinois taking place this weekend.

Celebrating its tenth consecutive year shining a spotlight on the most beautiful, one-of-a-kind custom motorcycles across the nation, UBCBS is the largest and one of the most sought-after touring custom bike competitions in the nation. The elite-level custom motorcycle builder competition features more than 300 motorcycles across the eight-city IMS tour, awarding more than $70,000 in cash and prizes. This year’s categories include Custom Classic, Custom Street, Freestyle, and People’s Choice.

Custom Classic

2020 IMS Minneapolis Show
Winner: Joseph (Lefty) Hyde with painter Tim Becker/Monti Roach took home first with a 1973 Triumph Tiger. The custom bike featured a Skull headlight, a 1960’s style tall sissy bar, and twister five-spoke wheels. The bike is appraised at $6,000.

2020 IMS Minneapolis
Runner-up: James Berreau with painter John Kochevar of Collision Masters was selected as runner-up with a 1974 Yamaha RD350. The motorcycle featured an XS650 fork conversion with a Billet triple clamp, custom paint and powder coating, and a custom wire harness with electronic conversion. The bike is appraised at $7,000.

Custom Street
2020 IMS Minneapolis
Winner: Juan Rodriguez of Jr. Customs with painter JP Customs took home first with a 2004 Suzuki Hayabusa that featured a molded windscreen, custom front fender, a 300-fat tire kit with tornado wheels, polished chrome frame, and more. The bike is appraised at $45,000.

2020 IMS Minneapolis
Runner-up: Johann Jack of Johann Jack, Inc. was selected runner-up with a 2003 Yamaha YZF R1. The custom motorcycle featured an Olin rear shock, Brembo brakes, a carbon fiber Akrapovic exhaust, carbon fiber BST five-spoke wheels, and more. The bike is appraised at $50,000.

Freestyle
2020 IMS Minneapolis
Winner: Jordan Dickinson of Union Speed and Style with painter Relic Kustoms took home first with a 1947 Harley-Davidson Knucklehead. The entire bike was handmade from raw materials and featured a complete one-off frame, and the gas tank, fender, oil tank, and fender struts were hammered from sheet steel. The bike is appraised at $150,000.

Runner-up: Krystal Hess of Motorcycle Missions with painter Taylor Schultz was selected as runner-up with a 2003 Triumph Speedmaster.

People’s Choice
2020 IMS Minneapolis
As voted by IMS attendees, Barry Zelickson of Big Thrill Factory, LLC with painter Paul’s Chrome took home the People’s Choice award with a 2017 Harley-Davidson Road King that featured a unique mix of chrome and skulls. The bike is appraised at $28,000.
